Pros
Very good management and helpful staff ok ok
Cons
Very bad management ok ok
Pros
Very stable company. Competive wages. Work from home. Good management who sticks up for and stands by good employees. Management support always available. Good responsive HR Support. PTO and medical benefits. Life insurance and Retirement plans I have worked at Mytek for over 10 years and the work environment is great. They have went to all remote work from home since Covid and still currently have continued this. Everyone is a team player and supports one another as well as management is super hard working and supportive of all the employees. Each year Mytek has company outings for every employee and guests to get together. Past outings at Suns games, Cardinals games, Medivel Times, restaurants and picnics. Management takes suggestions and votes even where to go and things to do. At Mytek there are multiple opportunities to gain experience and skills with multiple IT related applications and customers. If you find it rewarding to assist and troubleshoot with users issues and follow through you will get many opportunities to pad your resume. If you take direction well from your experienced team and management you will be a great fit on any Mytek team. If you are a person who enjoys and thrives in an environment where you are able to meet daily expectations without the need of constant supervision and direction you will find this job appealing and very gratifying. On the other hand if you are someone who is not accountable and needs to be told and babysat constantly to make sure you are doing working and not screwing off playing computer games you will eventually be found out and given your pink slip so you should not take this job. Working remotely is not for everyone. Anyone leaving negative reviews about Mytek is likely a disgruntled employee who was not cut out for the job they were hired to do and/or not responsible enough to be in an unsupervised work from home position.
Cons
Does not do regular performance reviews and pay increases
Pros
* There are a lot of experienced and friendly Techs and Engineers who will share their knowledge happily * You will likely be able to work from home (but you will be threatened with by the mandate of having to go back to the office on a regular basis.) * Good, however expensive, Health/Dental/PTO benefits * You are always busy, if you enjoy talking on the phone then this is for you * Great place to coast/stagnate/stopgap, despite my best efforts I wasn't able to achieve any long-term growth with this organization. * Hourly rate was good (but likely made me a target for termination so I could be replaced with someone cheaper later on, so beware)
Cons
* Was used for the duties for which I was initially hired for about six months then was thrown onto the phones, something I specifically told my recruiter and them I was not there for--but was ignored. * No performance reviews * No inflation pay adjustments * Poor, incorrect, or NO written procedure documentation for >25% of your ongoing responsibilities * Many work tools are unreliable and clients should take responsibility for that. It is a quality IT provider's job to help them understand why and guide them to correct it. Management denies the reality of this. * Little/No positive recognition, (good performance, work anniversaries, etc.) all interaction from CEO is negative or becomes negative in order to suit an agenda. * Anything that goes wrong, is, or will become, your fault. Document everything. * Email is NOT a knowledgebase but some people still think so. * This company will place you into multiple companies phone queues simultaneously (with separate ticketing systems) as if you had several jobs, and mandate that you pretend to each of them you aren't doing so. * No learning opportunities, was crammed with useless trivia about upside-down companies and proprietary processes that I will never use again. * Does not take travel expenses reimbursement (mileage) seriously, even after several reminders, I literally gave up because I didn't want any more negative attention. * Arrogant supervisors will not have discussions about process improvement (regardless of your subject matter expertise,) will throw rank to get their way instead and end the discussion then nothing improves.
