Pros

Staff empowerment, agile development methodology, Beer once month and quarterly parties ;). Easy to talk to ceo and senior management that care about what you say.

Cons

Poor marketing, complicated quoting process, they have not fully implemented agile methodologies yet, there are a few large cusomers that are sometimes quite demanding

Pros

Some of the people I worked with really knew their stuff and we're happy to help / provide info when needed.

Cons

Overwhelming blame culture. Bad planning and unrealistic commitments made to customers resulted in massive stress levels for those that ended up having to make miracles happen. No long term thinking and pretty much a "patch it and get going" approach to software development. Toxic environment - between the stress and the blame game and the office politics, it wasn't a nice place to be. Massive turnaround of staff in the development side of the company - no incentives for staff retention, mediocre benefits, below average pay.

Pros

There is a good mix of long serving staff bringing plenty of experience, which they are happy to share but there is also a large number of young blood bringing in fresh ideas and enthusiastic can do attitudes. I have found over time that a lot of people have become good friends that I like to see out of the office almost as much as I do in the office. Management don't clock people in and out, as a general rule the company is very flexible and accommodating with regards flexible working, start times, part time work and there isn't a feeling of big brother constantly watching you. Unlike one of the other reviews here, I don't feel that there is a blame culture. Its important we learn lessons where appropriate and understand mistakes but its not a case of finger pointing and stick wielding. I have on occasion been asked if I could work on something during the weekend or during my evenings but its always made clear to me that its not a problem to say no. My manager has actively encouraged a good work life balance and has been known to question me when I'm still here later in the evening. Interesting products, interesting people, I like it here.

Cons

For the more senior/long serving members of staff it is difficult to see much career opportunity past a certain point, but this is a great place for people joining lower down and being able to work their way up the ranks. There is definitely room for improvement with regards benefits, but there is talk of this happening. I do agree with the previous review with regards to unrealistic commitments. Some people do over promise and this can cause stress for the people having to deliver; but this also seems to be being addressed.
