I loved having the ability to have control of my duties in an order that I felt was best for all of my residents. I requested to stay on the same wing in order to have the best deepest possible relationships with the residents I took care of - the DON at the time was WONDERFUL! ) had been challenged with some health problems of my own and she was understanding and I did not feel like I was being looked down upon (something in long-term care many employees are fearful of)

as with most places, there were some patient care employees who did not personally have connections with the residents - they needed a job and it paid the bills - overall most employees hearts were in their work :)

Many of the staff have been there for many years.

There are no benefits and unexperienced managers.
