Great experience and diverse work

Relatively low compensation, limited upward mobility.

This is an organization that truly cares about education on a large scale (including special ed) and all kinds of supplementary services for children: speech therapy, ASL interpreting, vision needs, therapy & counseling, and more - all of these are provided to various district schools by BOCES employees. People working here are compassionate, professional, and cooperative. Benefits are excellent, including NYS pension and healthcare. Further development is possible through many workshops and PD sessions.

Not for people that like a rigid schedule /unless working in administrative departments/. Teachers and other specialists have to be very flexible as their assignments might change even during one school year. This can be frustrating at times, as well as not belonging to any certain school district, but is manageable with the right attitude.
