Great company overall with smart innovative people

Company shutdown because it wasn’t profitable enough to keep going.

I loved the work I did, as the designer, I was the main person customers would reach out to for any issue, and the collaborator for their designs.

Hired as 1099 contract, yet required to work by employee standards. Company constantly trying to reduce design time, and had very limited selection of "direct vendor" products. Designers were negatively affected by many metrics, which also included heavy sales volume. Modsy laid hundreds of designers off with 48 hours notice, huge lack of communication from the company during this time. Company defaulted on their end of the contract in doing so. Work volume varied widely, after first being hired I did not have any work assignment for weeks. Had to reach out multiple times requesting customer assignments. Could not charge for the time I truly worked on projects because I would've been fired per company metrics. Was not able to save my work with the 48hrs I had before I lost all access to company tools, while still being told to finish the projects in the pipeline before the shut down.
