Pros

Zero pros. This was a shockingly bad place to work.

Cons

Mochi Health is the worst job I’ve ever had, and I have no doubt it will remain the worst because of its toxic, chaotic leadership. The CEO micromanages down to hourly employees on Slack, berating them over metrics without understanding the bigger picture. Employees who take on critical tasks outside their metrics receive no recognition - only criticism for their numbers falling behind. Turnover was shockingly high when I worked there. Most employees I knew either quit or got fired within their first year. The CEO fires people frequently and arbitrarily, keeping everyone on edge and forcing them to wonder if they’ll be next. No one feels secure, valued, or supported. The CEO constantly changes pay structures without warning or explanation. Employees wait weeks or months to figure out how their compensation works, fueling frustration and destroying trust. Her complete lack of real-world experience drives this chaos. She floods employees with late-night Slack messages, prioritizes profits over patients and employees, and creates an environment where morale and safety don’t matter. The glowing reviews you might see make no sense. They don’t reflect reality, and many employees speculated that leadership encouraged positive reviews to cover up the dysfunction. I wouldn’t just warn people against working here - I would warn my family and friends about using Mochi's products.

Pros

Pretty good so far, autonomy, decent technology, and the support team is very helpful.

Cons

There are at times a few hiccups with the tech stack at times, but nothing major and errors/bugs usually get fixed right away anyway.

Pros

Working with kind and hardworking teammates and free/lunch dinner were the only silver linings to the dysfunctional, top-down culture.

Cons

Leadership of Mochi Health had no realistic understanding of timelines, often setting unrealistic expectations that were difficult to meet given the scope of work and available resources. Employees were treated inhumanely and disposable. There was a lack of clear structure, with the CEO closely involved in every individual contributors’ day-to-day work The company has a problem with high employee turnover, including terminations with no clear rationale. This caused low morale and a general sense of uncertainty among employees. There were instances where leaderships' behavior crossed professional boundaries, including instances of workplace harassment, which impacted the overall sense of safety and trust within the organization. Leadership lacks trust. New hires were subjected to intense “stress testing” periods. Policies were in place, including monitoring time spent in office and at desk, restricting phone access, and monitoring office surveillance footage by leadership. I strongly do not recommend working at Mochi Health.
