They make you work 8 hours on the "client" and make you work a few extra hours per week in tedious after-hours meetings, worthless case-studies and media articles, all of them are effectively non-paid labour. In return there's an internal currency called "love" (not a joke unfortunantly), so in return of your hard work outside of the client, you may see your "love counter" increase on your internal profile page (woohoo). The thing is: In Portugal most actual "client companies" are getting rid of their own workforce and in turn paying low rates to these "meatshops" so that they can cut employment ties with their workers while maintaining a fresh new workforce. These consulting companies are vultures around the fact that a big portion of the Portuguese IT job market agrees to low wages in order to avoid emigrating into more advantageous job markets elsewhere in the EU. This company in particular is especially vicious as it doesn't limit itself to take a fee from assigning a resource to a client company, it charges the resource with unpaid non-business hours (meetings at 10 pm....ffs).
