Pros

I've always loved Milgard products! (I've bought Milgard vinyl windows and patio doors for 2 homes over the years.) I was thrilled to learn they had a marketing position available 5 years ago when I was job hunting and felt it was a dream come true to work for a brand I respected. It's a family oriented company that cares about it's team members. The company values are aligned with my work ethic and the people are friendly and welcoming. Virtual working has been an option.

Cons

The building if Fife is a bit outdated, but, they are working on improvements.

Pros

Standard benefits Average pay for employees Middle management is nice and helpful Break rooms and coffee are well maintained Office space is decent for mid level employees, but has significant noise issues Production floor is nicely lighted, and generally well kept, but equipment is old and not well arranged for efficiency Modern software such as Blackline and Workday are used

Cons

Micromanagement is present at the top management tier ERP is lacking - Oracle Fusion and E business systems are behind the times Production floor management does not properly understand how metrics tie to budget and how to properly manage waste, the entire production floor needs an overhaul to be modern. Change management is not present for new projects and good ideas can be overlooked just because of company influence, position or politics. Work life balance is low for all business units Slow promotions across all business units Noise issues in the office from the production floor are easily heard in all areas of the business Lack of fun or events for employees, too big of a focus on metrics versus people Lack of safety culture, employees are injured frequently from unsafe work practices and procedures Bathrooms overflow or are dirty or not working downstairs Snacks are paid, no freebies here Reviews are typically kept low even for high performers - Anything over a 3/5 is considered abnormal at the company which keeps people from moving up
