Pros

Microcenter has some of the best prices for computer parts on the market and they really do a good job hiring systems and build your own associates that know what they are talking about most of the time, as apposed to most bigger named stores. They really know how to take care of customers but unfortunately if your looking at working there, make sure you choose your location wisely or else this commission paid job will offer you less then McDonald.

Cons

I work at the queens location and there are very view customers that come in looking for higher end systems and the few that do often try to haggle or leave with just the computer, all the while acting like they are doing you a favor and you should worship their mere presence. I think this has more to do with the area and the cultures that live in it, than the company. The job is commission based and your check will reflect more the attachments you sell and less of the actual amount. This would be fine if the internet didn't exist and free and pirated software weren't a thing. But most of the time your going to get the customer that only wants the most expensive computer their budget can afford and will not even hear you out about something as important as antivirus when there are free ones on the internet to download. The line "how much does it cost with tax?" will forever haunt my dreams.

Pros

Customer obsessed culture with a strong emphasis on expertise and service. Leadership is highly engaged, with consistent focus on coaching, accountability, and development through structured one-on-ones and daily execution rhythms. Clear expectations across sales, service, and operations create alignment on what success looks like. The organization provides exposure across multiple business functions, allowing leaders to build well rounded operational and commercial skill sets. High performance environment that rewards ownership, initiative, and results.

Cons

As a smaller, specialized retailer, organizational growth and upward mobility may take longer compared to larger big-box companies. Resources and infrastructure are still evolving in certain areas, which can require leaders to be more hands-on. High expectations and pace can create pressure during peak periods, requiring strong prioritization and resilience. Some systems and processes have a learning curve, particularly for leaders coming from larger, more standardized organizations.
