Pros
Nice coworkers. They work around your school schedule. The General Manager at my location was amazing. He was very professional and gave all employees a fair chance. In Columbus, you have opportunities to move to Corporate since headquarters are in Columbus as well. Customer Service is their number one priority and most of the customers were friendly. The owner, John Baker, created a solid company foundation.
Cons
Several managers were very passive aggressive. As an aggressive individual who was up front and wanted to be told straight up about issues, this was very annoying. It is also very cliquey. They promoted based on friendship and whom they liked, not who would be best for the position. You get paid decently, but it is hard to make more than 13 dollars an hr. They don't give raises, you get 4 dollars an hr, pooled commission and sales commission. "Selling more is how you get a raise". I can't control customer traffic so it's hard to get a "raise". Yes, you can make more money in the computer dept, but there are several old dudes that have made a career out of sales. It's hard to get back there. Also, many of the employees have settled for staying there forever. Because of this, many were bitchy and found reasons not to like other employees. Some had no backbone and talked behind the backs of other employees. The management makes too much money compared to the sales associates who are actually making the company money. I have so much more product knowledge than management, but got paid a bunch less. Some managers would bad talk employees to other employees. That is SUPER non-professional.
