Pros

The other employees are great, even though they all dislike working here.

Cons

Pay-(i currently make $13/hr, well below the industry standard. And my store is currently offering $9 to new hires for my position. And they wonder why they haven't hired anyone new in the paat year.) The customers- I've worked in retail before, this is the worst group i have ever delt with. Benefits - or lack of Bonus - non existing Tips - maybe 1 out of every 100 customers might slip you something under the table. Hours- over worked, under paid. Dont get me started on the holiday hours. The sales - they are confusing and misleading, good luck trying to explain how they work to customers.

Pros

Relatively easy job, lots to keep you busy and moving if you hate a stationary job. Easy to keep moving up from this role. The right team will make this your favourite role! Perfect job if you enjoy being the solution for everyday problems (just get your pay's worth).

Cons

Far too many hats, as Michaels tends to understaff. Can be a real slog with lack of support for training and followup coachings for cashiers. Hard to recommend this job long-term due to typically low entry pay, and pay gaps in similar management roles caused by company decisions over the last half decade or so.
