Cons
Every day at work is an exercise in politics and futility. Executive leadership is corrupt, incompetent and virtually non-existent. The senior managers and supervisors are shouldered with the burden of running the company for months at a time with no support, authority or information. As a result of poor communication, organization and leadership, issues go unaddressed for months or even years until a decision-maker is personally held accountable by a client to cajole them into action. This in turn causes clients to become absolutely infuriated with the lack of responsiveness and honesty. Communication from the upper management, when it occurs, is unusual. Sometimes they are childish, dismissive and disrespectful. Sometimes they are giddy and overly complimentary. Yet other times they are slurring their words during meetings and failing to complete sentences leaving all attendees confused. Compensation is very poor (bottom of the pay scale for most jobs nationally) There are no raises, no reviews and no promotions. There is no interview or application process. You will be regularly betrayed by your own co-workers. As a whole, Metrc exists on the exploitation of its own employees to create intellectual property for them and perform tasks outside the scope of their job to avoid proper compensation. The culture has devolved into job-protectionism, wherein all employees are focused on protecting their own job and aggrandizing themselves to earn favor and the median tenure even for senior employees is less than 3 years. Through their method of exploitation, the environment has become so chaotic that many employees are not able to get a job description or even information on what their job actually is.
