Pros

Driven by a mission and focused on a simple Vision. This organization interviewed me for team fit as well as skills. Even though I did not qualify for a merit increase, Payroll conducted an unsolicited market analysis and gave my salary a bump up to be competitive. There are processes in place to prevent flavor-of-the-month initiatives from wasting company resources. Low turnover rates compared to industry benchmarks. Leadership development is a priority here, and the Emerging Leader Program is an amazing opportunity. Tuition reimbursement and the ADN nursing program through El Centro Community College still has me mindblown that my own immediate family or myself can become a Nurse paid for by MHS!

Cons

Some systems and processes seem antiquated like the intranet and the telephony timekeeping, but they do amazing work with what they have and put their investments where it will benefit patients more like Da Vinci surgical robots.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
