Pros

Direct impact on patient experience - Volunteers are often the first human touchpoint for patients and their families...greeting, guiding, comforting. Working with great, professional colleagues. Fun employee engagement and team-building events.

Cons

Healthcare is a fast-paced environment which requires highly-focused attention to detail.

We agree that creating a welcoming, compassionate experience is so important. We also appreciate that you value your colleagues and the sense of connection across the team. Healthcare can indeed be fast-paced and detail-oriented, and we’re grateful for team members like you who stay focused and committed to delivering the best experience possible.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.
