Pros

Great opportunity for developing a solid career experience

Cons

The current focus on profitability makes it impossible for Mercer to compete with the other giants in the industry, since they (Aon Hewitt, Towers Watson, etc) have cutting edge technology AND top talent, whereas Mercer's current policies of cost cutting have forced much of the top performers out of the company and this policy also prevents the massive investment in technology necessary to catch up to the competition. The reason why top talent is leaving is because without the proper technology tools the workload doubles and it becomes impossible to achieve the high expectations when co-workers keep leaving and no replacements are hired to take on the workload.

Pros

paid well, honored sick leave and FMLA, reasonable benefits,

Cons

They don't actually pay bonuses, or at least not to new hires who fall through the cracks of team and project assignments - and they'll claim it's that person's fault with no way to change what's happening around them. Management supports discriminatory and bullying behavior regarding who gets billable work, who attends meetings and on-sites, etc. Mostly, men go and only younger or non-technical women. They had men present women's work as their own. If you protest too much, you're on the radar for life and anything you say can be misconstrued. You'll be told to not criticize or disparage coworkers, even though they all criticize you constantly.
