Mercato's hubris is a prime example of the venture capital industry at large. Overpromising and underdelivering while creating a work environment inconducive to productivity. Mercato lacks basic execution abilities and exhibits an unearned air of superiority. Recent changes to management have been an attempt to "right" the ship, however, express a lack of vision and transparency to employees.
