Pros
Training on paper is the best I've seen in retail. Good pay. Lots of opportunities to move up. Company values are great
Cons
Menards is great on paper in every category. However EVERYTHING lives and dies with upper management. Most GM's play favorites, and will only promote based on this, so if you don't have brown lips you probably will stall. The epidemic of undermanagement in this company is due because there is a disconnect between general office, and the stores themselves. There is just not enough focus on the GM's to see if they are actually doing their jobs (which is being a leader to a team) It's very buddy buddy, and if your not in the clique at that particular store, you will be blessed to survive by the grace of God. While the company has great values, and I am sure some people live up to them, most do not. More arrogant, and narcissistic people get promoted, than humble, kind, and hardworking people. GM's cannot admitt when they are wrong, nor do no wrong for that matter.
