Pros
Many of the people were great to work with. Can get paid weekly, which may avoid an increase in taxes. Opportunity to move up, especially if going through the Manager Trainee Program.
Cons
High turnover. Too many hours for managers that may be 70+. They will tell you that you will make about $40k as an Assistant Dept. Manager, but not that you will have to work 60+ hours to do so. Hourly pay is low, MT's start at $11.50 per hour and increases are based on knowledge tests that need to passed. Advancement will depend on the GM/Store Manager, can be blacklisted if one doesn't play the game. Hours can be troublesome due to the required close one night and open the next day (if someone works a 12 hour shift and closes (10pm or an avg. of about 45-90 minutes post closing), they will have to return the next day at 6:30 am, there may be little time for sleep). Medical insurance is high and doesn't offer anything special, especially for family.
