Pros

Always busy, make the days go by faster. That is the only pro.

Cons

If you're looking to get some knowledge, get your foot in the door, and expand your career, this is not the place to do that. I would suggest looking in a different department than Outpatient Imaging. Never have I worked at a place where you are overworked and never rewarded. For the past 2 years I worked there, I had three managers. Turnover is extremely high and we are constantly understaffed. PTO: You accrue your time, but are not allowed to use them. Fellow coworkers were filing for FLMA because they were unable to take a week off for their personal medical needs. If you request off in advance, you do not know if you were approved of your time until the day before you need to be off. You are allowed a 30 minute lunch break, and you have to clock in and out which ultimately leaves you with 27.5 minutes for lunch. Eat Fast! Waters must be kept in a cubby and you are not allowed to bring snacks. There is no personal time during work. You must constantly be working and if you are caught taking a moment for yourself management will question you. PARs are to remain at their "post" at all times and if they leave to use the restroom they must let another PAR know, or management will come looking for you and will question you on that as well. You will constantly be asked to work over time and extra days and new PARs being hired are hired as supplemental with no set hours and cannot speak for themselves as they will not be granted their full time employment within the 90 days. No movement within the department or outside the department. I spoke to management numerous times about transferring or cross training or moving outside the department and was constantly shut down. Management does not care about your career development and does not care about you personally. You are just a body to fill a position for them so they can improve their monthly reports to their management team.

Pros

Quality care. Patient focused. Room for growth depending on skill but sometimes based on who you know which is a con. Lots of great providers who really care.

Cons

A lot of politics and favortism. People get promoted in leadership that don't deserve it which makes for a miserable experience for those working with them . Some senior leaders are disrespectful, overly demanding, disregard others time and effort, manipulative, aggressive, belittling, don't understand the workload of others, inflict punishment based on their feelings or because they want to, do things for their own benefit and are dishonest.
