Pros

The executive team promotes and practices a work/life balance. It was a hybrid workplace before the pandemic, and that practice continues. It's been around almost 40 years and that's thanks to great vision from the team. At key times the company has embraced new technology to stay relevant in the marketplace. They encourage and bankroll training for employees, and they welcome ideas from the team about new products, technology, and processes.

Cons

The company runs lean, usually, so sometimes the workload can feel overwhelming. They like to cross train to minimize this, but you can only do so much.

Pros

I'm a 5+ year employee of Matrix Networks. One of the qualities that originally attracted me was the friendly atmosphere. People smile and say hello, which was a welcome change from my previous job. The management team is supportive to workers - both with initial training and with continuing job growth. Learning is encouraged, and that value is shared on the customer side, as well. Because it's a small company (under 35 employees) teams actually work well because there is face-to-face accountability. We want to do a good job for each other and the customer. I never feel hung out to dry by my coworkers. We're committed to the project's success.

Cons

It is a small, family-run business so that can feel claustrophobic sometimes. There is a good work/life balance philosophy in place, but the technology we use makes it all too easy to do work outside office hours.
