Pros

Big hiring bonuses, slightly higher than average starting pay, most of the people actually doing the work (operators, maintenance, engineers, supervisors) are good, hard working people.

Cons

Upper management at this company is incredibly short sighted. With a huge portion of the institutional knowledge base getting ready to retire and begging for people to train there has been no effort made to prepare for the future. New, entry level employees are being hired at wages that approach those of seasoned, experienced personnel essential to the operation of the company, while those experienced workers are not cared for causing discontent and problems. Human resources is only 2 people who are completely unavailable and do everything they can to avoid actually helping employees. For all of 2022 there were constant messages from management thanking employees for record profits- apparently 2022 was the most profitable year this location has ever had- however raises for the year amounted to only half the year's increase in cost of living/inflation and the "thank you" employees got was a sandwich and a $50 Amazon card, while the "company" took home something like $150 million in profit. Without major change and improvement there will likely be very, very big problems for this division of Materion in the future.
