Run Away! Employees Asked To Write Reviews On Here! - Matcharista Matchaful Employee Review

Pros

Free drinks and low pressure job responsibilities

Cons

Employees are asked to write good reviews on here to make the company look better. Work anywhere else if possible rather than here. Poor management leaves important responsibilities to fall to the more qualified and lower paid staff. Poor communication from leadership that overlooks bad management inside stores. Overworked employees sat in a chair behind the bar after feeling light headed multiple times. One time dirty mop water was left in a rinse sink for days while the basement flooded and employees were instructed to wash dishes in a hand wash sink upstairs, which is a health code violation. Graffiti was left on windows for weeks without any solution. Hours were cut due to low revenue and workers were not informed until after the schedule had gone out about the extent of the cuts. Employees pulled downstairs alone into the stock room in the middle of shifts to gossip and give weird informal performance reviews with the door locked. Again, run away as fast as you can unless you're desperate for a job.

Pros

Leadership that cares and is present, CEO leads with empathy, great menu and matcha, ingredients are clean and transparent. As long as you work hard and show up to the job, you'll be recognized and there will be room for growth opportunities,

Cons

It's a young company, so it can be a bit messy with new launches. There can be gossip amongst matcharistas about leadership when they get upset about changes or being held accountable. A lot of people complain, don't want to work so they find excuses and often blame others for their lack of work ethic.

Pros

Chill coworkers, good drinks, cute environment

Cons

Management hires friends to manage and ignores huge behavioral issues within uppers. Upper management in corporate office most the time having little to no idea how stores are operating except for random checks where everything seems fine because we know they are coming. Our store was left without any management for months. We even got our tips robbed and had to stay and work the rest of the shift after half of us in tears and panic, police, etc. Instead, the owner added 20 dollars to our tips for the day (5 dollars for each of us) and we kept working. Priorities are the store over the people. Underpaid for the amount of responsibility you have when no management is around to do something, handle complaints, etc.
