Pros
- FLEXIBLE HOURS: Not much to elaborate here. - GREAT CULTURE: A rotating culture committee, big-release celebrations, Christmas parties. Those are just some of the things assembled by the company itself and do not include the employee-organized festivities. Many of the coworkers become friends outside of the work environment through the bonding these events facilitate. Monthly company meeting are always book-ended by an open forum for people to give shout-outs to people of note this month. Company values are communicated often and emphasized. Also a lot of people have become really good at ping pong because of our table downstairs. Unless a black cloud follows you everywhere, you cannot deny the exceptional camaraderie that's come to fruition here. - HELP IS EVERYWHERE: Rare is the occasion where I am truly left to my own devices on some subject I don't know anything about. Your coworkers are consistently kind and willing to explain things (that they're able to, of course) across all (ALL) departments. It alleviates a lot of pressure to know there is a support system like that. - DIRECTION & DRIVE: Our company meetings (monthly, quarterly, annually) lay out well-thought out and motivational roadmaps for the direction of the company. Metrics are meticulously tracked. Successes and failures are openly acknowledged. Recent troubles or promotions are addressed and discussed. It is very clear that we have a team focused on long-term achievements and are taking the thought-out steps to get there. - ACCESSIBLE EXECUTIVE TEAM: It is easy to get in touch with the executive team. Their doors are open for most of the day every day and your voice is heard.
Cons
- POLITICS: Unfortunately there have been some people that love to poison the well and make an otherwise light-atmosphere a complete drama school. Most people catch wind of these personalities early-on but they do get in the way occasionally. The length of time these people linger at the office is highly variable. Some get disposed of quickly, others worm their way into the fabric and stink up the place. These people are few and far between as far as I can tell. - MANAGEMENT: Some aspects of management were questionable in the past. There have definitely been characters at play that abused their power to get out of work or to take credit for their another's efforts when they had little to show for themselves. - JUNK FOOD: A lot of junk food in the work place.
