Pros

Working at Masada Homes, Inc. was a rewarding experience. My work was very demanding but I was very fortunate to have supervisors that knew the job, understood the pressures, sought and embraced feedback from employees, and, in general, were very supportive of employees. While not every experience at Masada was peaches and cream and there are some people that make working there unpleasant, overall, had it not been for personal necessities, I would have been very happy to remain at Masada Homes for a longer period of time. Speaking with and interacting with people from other agencies who did the same work I did in the same areas with the same population was always a reminder of how much better things are Masada compared to other entities. About the worst thing about working for Masada is how hard it is to find another place that affords the same collective fulfillment.

Cons

Because it is a family business, nepotism has a presence there at Masada which, at times, can be frustrating (a few people who take advantage of the nurturing nature of the agency). But, there are many signs that indicate that the frustrating personnel realities are steps in a process.

Pros

Make your own schedule, work in the field, must be self motivated and self directed to get all clients serviced. Family atmosphere very supportive and helpful when you are an associate ASW or MFT.

Cons

No desk jobs available or office spaces to accomodate clients that don't have a therapeutically safe place in which to work. You're always looking for a library, park bench or a bathroom to use. If you are hurt and partially disabled, they will try to hold your job until they can't any longer. They don't think you are able to work in the community with children if you need to use a knee or leg brace,

Pros

The pay was very competitive.

Cons

Unfair treatment. Employees who were there longer were treated with more leniency while as a new employee the standard was extremely high. Most of management were not collaborative team. HR was not accessible nor approachable. Very hostile working environment. A lot of high management positions would talk negatively about executive members but it seems that if you clicked with that type of culture you will survive working at this company. The experience working here was extremely isolating.
