Pros

When you own a Mary Kay business, YOU are in control of your life, finances, future and absolute freedom. There is no fear of "loosing a job" because you are self employed. If you work your business, are coachable and trainable and stay consistent no matter what, you will be successful. If you work your business on consistent basis, just as you would at a job, you will see results very fast. You can earn a use of a company car with as little as 5 people on your team and you can get it done in as little as 3 months. If a company car is not what you had in mind, you can take a cash compensation and drive whatever you desire. Every year company gives away over $5 milion in jewelry and trip to it's top Consultants and Directors. It is an absolute dream company, where you can have it all. If you are willing to work for it. There are numerous reasons why, in opinions of many women worldwide, this company is the best for any women out there. Besides the obvious: financial and personal recognition reasons, there is also the Golden Rule on which this company was based. "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you." All sales force lives and works by this rule on daily basis. Knowing you work for a company where you can have the financial freedom, be recognized for your achievements, be treated like a princess, travel the world Mary Kay style, drive company cars, be involved in the community through this business and being able to help others is not a 2nd place for anything out there. This company is the #1 on the list. Hands down.

Cons

YOU HAVE TO WORK. You can't just purchase a starter kit and wait for a million dollar check to arrive in a mail week later. This is a business venture like any other out there and if you do not work, you do not see the results you wanted. If you treat this as a hobby, you will get hobby results. On the flip side, if you treat this as a business and work it just as you would at your desk, in the office, you will get amazing results from it faster. In Corporate America, most people get paid salaries whether they do what they are supposed to during the day or not. They may take ten 15 minute breaks and still get paid for 8 hours worth of work. When you own a business and you are the boss, it doesn't work that way. You actually have to work that 8 hour day (if you are a full time Mary Kay Consultant or Director.) If you are starting part time, you work with your Director (Business Coach) who will help you get started. She will train, coach, mentor and motivate you to get you in this business where you want to be. If you decide to do it alone, it will take you a long time to see results, you will get frustrated and will eventually give up. This is the time to tuck your ego away, put your "big girl panties" on and work.
