Pros
When you meet goals as in getting the monthly required credit card applications (which the company harasses you about everyday) the staff gets funding for a mediocre lunch from a selected fast food chain vs. the usual snack area in the lunch room full of sugar filled packages of “food.” Lunch break is nice because you have 45mins to get away from that place.
Cons
The company is VERY cheap. You will only be given a 10% discount, which covers taxes on a purchase… that’s it. If you are a hard worker, you’ll be given more task while the lazy one’s get away with doing nothing or put on fitting room duties to do even less. The pay for the amount of work you’ll be doing ranging from stock room, floor and constant calls to the front end for backup doesn't feel worth it. You're talked about in a negative light once you can’t generate credit apps as fast as they’d like (because they get bonuses off your hard work/effort ) and your hours will be cut. Then you’ll eventually be replaced by someone new… it’s a revolving door. Favoritism is a huge factor within the company as well. Also, if a customer has a negative experience in any form and an employees name is dropped, you will be pushed aside in favor of the customer no matter how in the right you are. LP isn’t there to stop actual theft, no. Their job is to watch the employees all day all while customers are walking out with carts full of stolen merch worth hundreds of dollars. So, don’t look at LP as your friend even though they’ll be chatty with you and smile in your face. At the end of the day they are targeting YOU. If you must work for this establishment. Keep your eyes open for better opportunities elsewhere. There’s a reason why the only people who stick around are people who have no other options.
