Pros

There were some fun aspects, like drinks after work and training sessions, although after a while it all seemed forced and like the company is trying really hard to be cool but really just takes a lot of time out of your day. Good career starter, immerses you fully in the work you're doing. Decent time off/ sick days.

Cons

Senior staff talks down to everyone else and are very condescending. People will be scared to tell senior staff about mistakes they have made out of fear of being yelled at or, again, talked down to. There's way too much work for individuals in the lower roles and you'll likely be working during the nights to keep up. Very gossip-y culture and an every man for himself mentality where people aren't scared to throw you under the bus to make themselves look better. I dreaded every day I had to work here, and couldn't wait to leave. Pay is also low for area agencies.

We offer many opportunities for employees to share feedback and have many examples where the advice and idea was implemented. It's all about the approach. I appreciate your comment about a forced cool culture and that the perks we offer took a lot of time out of your day. We never intended for the opportunity to take a break and recharge during the work day to have the opposite effect. We are also the only agency I know that regularly increases our salary brackets to not only match the industry but to accommodate new hires from other locations.

Pros

I started at March as an intern, and was quickly given a lot of experience and responsibility, alongside a lot of support, coaching and guidance from March. March is all about promoting from within and helping people develop the skill sets to become better, well-rounded PR pros. March has a very strong content and digital arm, and those people are often embedded on PR teams. March also has a robust performance review, mentorship and skill development program. I ended up being able to move up the ranks and on to the management team in less than 7 years. Throughout my time at March I had incredible experiences, getting to travel abroad, to major tech events like CES, and to work on some of the most exciting tech brands locally and across the US. March is very respected in the tech industry, with much of its business coming from referrals from current clients. In terms of the people, I can’t say enough good things. The owners of the company genuinely care about each employee personally and professionally and are invested in their success. Some of my closest friends are current and former March employees. I ended up moving on to try my hand at an in-house role, but have March to thank for developing me into the PR professional I am today.

Cons

Not much to say here. The work life balance can be tough, as is the case at any agency. However, if anyone’s workload is out of control, there is a huge effort made to fix it. And, as I was leaving, even more precautions were being put in place to get an even better birds eye view of a team member’s workload on a day to day basis.
