Pros
1. The company is built off wonderful foundations, the culture around people being their #1 asset is admirable. 2. Great opportunities for growth & advancement, if you work hard there is alot of career progression. 3. Depending on the branch, there is a good chance of making good friends within the teams. 4. Graduate Development program needs some work, but is a great way for a lot of young people to take their first step into Logistics.
Cons
1. Current leadership has lost the "Mainfreight way". Many disgrunted team members, consistent leadership changes and the wrong kinds of people in the wrong roles. The executive team spend too much time in the numbers, not in the branches. They are getting desperate and making decisions based on MONEY not PEOPLE (which is the companies #1 value....). Needs course-correction ASAP before you lose more talent. 2. High level of pressure and stress passed down to the team, with being a "decentralized" business all issues & poor results are blamed/handled at a "branch level". Leads to overworked & stressed Branch Managers, drowning with no support. That in turn is observed by the operations teams.... No work-life balance. 3. Leaders in executive roles with non-exisetent personal skills, no inspiring or motivating leaders left within the business (there was once many). 4. Bonus & Pay review structure not consistent. The financial performance of other branches/department hinders your own personal opportunity for growth. Salary reviews are non-existent and in my last 2.5 years at the company I did not have a single performance review with my manager.
