Pros
I have been working with Magic Ears for a few months and I had been working with other companies as well. Magic Ears is so innovative and family-like compared to all the other companies! You feel valued and part of a supportive community. The company is constantly bettering the teaching platform based on the teachers' feedback. For example, one lesson was extremely long and I did not finish it (which results in penalities) but after my feedback to the company, they cut down the number of slides! I love the platform, it is very easy to use, interactive and fun. The teachers do not get penalized for sick days or emergencies. The pay is great with the bonuses for entering class early and opening 60+ slots a month. I love that there is room to grow in the company too. I quit all of my other online teaching jobs because I love love love Magic Ears and want to put in all of my effort into bettering my teaching, ranking up and growing with the company! I would definitely recommend it to other teachers. It has been a great experience thus far.
Cons
The biggest downside, in my opinion, is the rankings and how it affects bookings. You enter the company as a Freshman and open up to 10 slots a week (which is good that you start slow and get instant feedback from the team to improve your teaching style because it takes time to adapt to the style) then you can move up to Junior. I have about 12-15 classes a week, but I would love to have more. I hope to move up as a senior teacher in order to have more bookings, but moving up is based on parent feedback and team evaluations. So I hope that a past error/technical issues will not hinder me from moving up in the company now that all of my problems have been fixed! Also, I hope that there are more available hours in the future. They are working on it :)
