Pros
The strong purpose and values of the organisation oozes through everything about working here. People matter and our impact on the world matters too. I joined just a few months before the pandemic threw 'business as usual' up high in the air and there is no doubt that it has been a challenging time. The directors have been incredibly open about this impact and have positioned this time as a chance to challenge current practices and help us to better prepare for the future. This has created a lot of innovative thinking around business opportunities, organisational structure and job roles, and our wider mission. It has also highlighted to me just how talented, knowledgable and adaptable my colleagues are. It has been incredible to see how absolutely everyone in the company has been involved in the discussions and actions and how the different perspectives bring new richness. In return for working hard, respecting others and being self-driven, there is tremendous flexibility and opportunity to learn. There are no fiefdoms - just bright, kind people willing to share. It's so refreshing. The office (when we are there) in Venice, CA is an incredible location too!
Cons
I can't think of any real cons - its a small company with a self-organised structure, so it might not suit those who want or need more direction and hierarchy.
