Pros
- Everyone is incredibly nice and bubbly, never had a bad experience
- Impactful work that does make a difference
- Opportunity for various site-visits on Fridays, and to hang with other interns
- Learned a lot about wastewater and government work
- Hours were 7am-3pm, which was really nice
- Emphasis on diversity and inclusion, felt welcomed here
Cons
- Weird work-from-home policy (some interns got none, others got anywhere from 0.5 to 3 days WFH per week, starting after 30 days of employment)
- Very slow, many days I would have literally nothing to do
- $21 is low pay for the Boston area, in my opinion
- Overly structured career progression if you land a full-time role, you basically have to wait till someone dies or retires to advance. Consistent with government work
