Pros

They needed a conversion team for all of their reports. I was on it and learned so much with Crystal Reports and the companies system and limitations. I was given space in my position to gain knowledge about a process that was riddled with human error, as the reconciliation process was manual and insufficient. I began testing new things until I created individual programs for each health plan and changed the entire process.

Cons

Everyone on the management team was competitive. We trained for 10ks and marathons together, which was fun. After the San Diego Rock n Roll Marathon we decided to go for a tri-athalon. We were to meet at the Santa Barbara pier at 5:00 am and swim around it. I had a newborn at home. When I saw all of the sharks that swam under that pier, my mind changed. There was stress there, but I enjoyed the entire time there.

Work schedule flexibility Generally positive attitude among staff and management Constant QA & enforcement that ensures quality work General ease of horizontal movement within the company

Cons

Even with 5+ years at the company - hard to move vertically in the company Qualified employees are bypassed for external candidates very quickly Pay is average if not slightly below average Constant cost cutting mode is ok but not when it's shoved into your face
