Pros

One of the few companies still truly dedicated to customer service. Their employees genuinely care about each other. They are very loyal to one another and to their customers. Unlike other companies MD adapts to what the customer wants in regard to their shipments and visibility. I do believe for someone starting out in their career this is a great company to start with.

Cons

Make no doubt this is a family business. Nepotism is all throughout the company. Friends and Family are brought in and placed in Director level positions with zero knowledge of or the logistics industry as a whole. Veteran staff are expected to train these friends/family members to be their bosses and kills morale. They promote within for lower to mid level positions but the top positions go to the outside sources. ( friends and family) They will work you to death if you allow it so you have to stand your ground firm or that extra effort will become expected versus appreciated.

Pros

You may get occasional mentorship or guidance, depending on who you work with. Exposure to challenging situations that can build thick skin and adaptability. Good if you’re desperate for experience.

Cons

Pay is well below industry standards and doesn’t match the level of work expected. Health insurance is weak and requires constant effort just to manage basic coverage. Growth opportunities, recognition, and empowerment are almost nonexistent. Often expected to deliver results without the necessary tools or resources : setting employees up to fail. Excessive micromanagement from leadership creates confusion, stalls progress, and prevents teams from working effectively. The culture prioritizes control over trust, which makes it difficult to succeed or feel valued. Advice to Future Job Seekers: Be cautious! This is not a place where you’ll find competitive compensation, strong benefits, or much opportunity to grow. Expect a challenging environment with little support, where you’ll need to rely heavily on yourself to get through.
