Executive management is comprised of too many individuals in critical positions who lack the skills required to perform adequately and who have no long-term vested interest in the welfare of the company and are more concerned with resume building than improving the company. CEO's concerns are more with public image than actual substance. Fear of backlash from weak union leadership too often drives decision-making to the long-term detriment of the company. Because strong leadership is not valued, supported or shown respect, current executive management is breeding a culture of mediocrity.
