Pros

A lot of benefits like health insurance, free gym, free physician, access to squash court and virtual golf etc. Good work/life balance with flexibility

Cons

This is the worst place to work if you are: a) a young professional b) a woman There is a lot of hierarchy, and a lot of seniors and managers put down the young professionals and won't listen to their input. Adding to this, being a female young professional is even worse. A lot of men are going to mansplain things to you, and they don't like if you ask questions they can't answer. Managers lack technical knowledge and skills. They pretend to have a clear view of which direction tech projects are going, but they actually don't. They hide this by talking over-excessively nonsense and wasting all developers' time on all this non-sense talking in hour-long meetings. Majority of the managers are Caucasian male in their 40s and 50s who've been at Maersk since their 20s. The only reason they still remain in the company is because they've either a) had success with a project and then kept all the knowledge to themselves so they are the only experts and/or b) they've been there for too long so they are too expensive to fire A lot of insecurity coming from managers all the way down to seniors and juniors. People take credit for each other's work. If anyone discovers anything, they prefer to keep it to themselves because that's how they can keep a job at Maersk - by being the only expert in a specific field/subject etc. HR is a joke. They only care about the company, and not the employees. No one is there to protect you and your rights as an employee. HR doesn't respond to your requests, and if they do, it's going to take ages. In disputes between managers and employees, HR sides with the managers. Even if a manager is inappropriate or threatens an employee, nothing will happen - the manager is protected while the employee who's had unpleasant experiences with a manager just has to live with it. If you want a promotion, you better hope you know the right people, and that HR likes you. Or else, you'll never achieve a promotion.

Pros

I used to love working here. I love the people I work with. The level of clients we get to work with is great. National, International brands.

Cons

Frequent reorganizations, salaries are not even keeping up with inflation (which is not a "merit" increase, additional responsibilities for no additional compensation, frequent layoffs and offshoring. When layoffs occur, there are always several positions / responsibilities that are not backfilled and no longer owned by anyone. Changing work from home / hybrid / full time back in office policies continue to change. Employees no longer trust the leadership. There is no stability. There is no incentive to do great work. It has not been valued.
