Pros

In my previous role, I was fortunate to be surrounded by colleagues who not only shared a common vision but also fostered a supportive and collaborative work environment. This unity allowed us to work cohesively towards our shared goals, resulting in a positive and productive atmosphere that enhanced our collective performance.

Cons

While the shared vision was a positive aspect of Lumenus, it was not without its challenges. One major concern was the lack of a clear action plan to translate this vision into concrete steps and goals. This ambiguity made it difficult for the team to align their efforts effectively. Furthermore, there were limited opportunities for professional growth, and often, the contributions of staff members remained undefined. This lack of recognition and direction left me feeling undervalued and unsure about my role within the organization. One significant issue was the frequent scenario where staff members consistently went above and beyond their job descriptions without receiving recognition for their extra efforts. This, unfortunately, resulted in a growing sense of disillusionment, as there were few incentives or reasons to continue performing at high levels.

Pros

The only thing I think of is: supportive colleagues

Cons

The workload is INTENSE, there is a high demand for employee time even outside of the contracted hours - feels like they don't care about employees' personal life, nearly impossible to maintain a positive work-life balance, depite not being a crisis centre - often feels like we need to respond to crises and like the organziation is in a ciris, limited space for counselling in community programs, feels like there is a push to be corporate when it is a mental health non-profit which is the opposite of corporate.
