Turnover is constant. Every time a new person comes on, they must be trained, checked, etc...all this costs the company money. Why not strive to keep the people who are there, who have been there, who know the job, routes, procedures? They are very concerned about driver safety, as they should be, but when it comes to ATM training, it's non-existent. "Just call and we'll walk you through it" is not training. And going to one-person trucks? Armored-car companies once had three crew-members: driver, jumper, and one guy who just stood outside the truck with a shotgun. Then it was two. Now it's moving to just one. This is greed, pure and simple. During a delivery, or ATM service, there is NO ONE watching that person. One head-shot and they're done, and the robber is rich. The absolute best part is a DOT loophole that lets this industry NOT PAY OVERTIME. You read that right...if you work 45, 50, 60, 65 hours, you'll get straight time. It's a joke. It's theft. And it happens every single day. Management, though? They'll be in some fine new rides, while THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ON THE ROAD EVERY DAY are driving beat-up hand-me-downs.
