Pros

Cool events in the office sometimes

Cons

They are basically trying to do anything to get people in the door. All of the people I started with were informed of a hybrid schedule and we’re not told differently until day 1 that it would not be hybrid for the first three months, apparently this also includes days where there is a foot of snow on the ground and unsafe to drive. Time is insanely micromanaged (unless you’re a salaried associate there are looser time expectations which is against labor standards). If your time-ins are not consistently on the dot everyday, you will get yelled at. If you come back from lunch a few minutes too late or a few minutes too early, you will be yelled at and asked what you were doing with your time. Can’t respond to a teams message right away? Or a few minutes late to a meeting? You might just have your manager call six times within ten minutes wondering where you are. Feedback seems to be commonly asked for, but with no intention of fixing these things when the feedback is given. Just told “I’m sorry to hear that.” The training program seems well thought out at first, but quickly dissolves into chaos after a couple weeks of being employed for each class that comes in. You’ll see that the benefits are great, but people are not staying at Lockton for a reason.

Pros

A true “team effort” environment. I think it really depends on who your team lead is and the dynamic of the group you work with. You will get a ton of experience fine tuning skills as they provide constant trainings and resources to learn. Decent pay when compared to competitor companies and great 401k plan. Plenty of company and marketing events. Hybrid work is great. Again to preface, who you work with can make or break the atmosphere, but everyone I’ve met has been extremely nice and willing to help. Opportunities to grow within the company.

Cons

Health benefits could be better. Company is really pushing new business and there can be a lot of work and last minute fires to put out that can feel daunting. There have been quite a few times I’ve worked late into the night to get things wrapped up. You need to self organize or things can easily fall through the cracks very quickly. A lot of meetings that can take up a majority of your day - leaving less time to get actual work done.
