Fun location but terrible upper management - Game Tester Localsoft Employee Review

Pros

Nice office and lovely (temporary) colleagues. Supervisors were nice.

Cons

They pay very little and lie to you constantly, be it about doing a translation test or when they will provide you internet in the expensive apartment they organized for you (in the end, there was no internet but they offered an internet stick). Management continuously tries to talk you, in a pushy way, into things you don't want to do, like accept a roommate you don't like or extend your contract even though you already have other plans. Randall seems like a great guy, but actually, his wife is the one running the company, and she is plain awful.

Pros

Belinda is a sweetheart and colleages are generally nice. It's probably OK for a first AAA game experience.

Cons

Organisation is a disaster, testers are often left out of management info and they're late communicating important things. The NDA is extremely abusive and the pay (mostly if you are Spanish) is piss poor. You're not allowed to put on your resume the titles you've worked on even if the game is already out in the market, which hinders your possibilities to be hired by other companies. Be careful as clients have the power to cut the projects short and the company won't help relocate you in another project or anything whatsoever. If you have to go to the doctor (or have something important to do) they will force you to do overtime (even if there's nothing to do) just to please the client, as they hire per hour, which I'm not sure is legal at all. Also, if you get sick you'll just get fired and be replaced immediately.

Pros

Good work-life balance, nice management and colleagues, great area with green spaces around the office.

Cons

The location of the tech park is quite far from malaga centre, so the commute took time. Some colleagues stayed in the nearby Campanillas, but I would still prefer to stay in the city centre as there's more opportunities for free time and social life.
