Pros

Start up environment where you get to wear many hats and have exposure to all areas of the business. People (in early years) were great, hardworking and focused. Everyone was 100% in on LP and culture didn't have to be talked about because everyone was contributing to it. Opportunity to be part of something cool. Biggest pros were exposure to cool board members, including Dr. Robert Langer and ability to have input on a lot of decision that affected the culture and the company.

Cons

Shifts in leadership (CEOs) over years have dramatically changed the focus, the culture and how people are rewarded. Science is no longer the backbone of the company (as the marketing likes to make us believe) and it has turned into an advertising and profit focused entity that cares less about creating products that are truly unique and disruptive versus products that are good but only continue to leverage existing technology and provide nothing really new except more marketing campaigns and over-priced packaging. The company has lost its way and while successful is not true to it's origins. In addition, over the years, senior leadership has been shockingly heavy given the size of the company and most alarmingly big-company focused with process, communication and decision making. Last, the lack of good intentions and strategy around people, org and culture decisions have and will continue to impact engagement levels from the most critical people.
