Pros
I worked with several talented, dedicated people who genuinely cared about the quality of their work.
Cons
Near-constant changes in direction and ongoing scope creep from Product routinely force engineering teams to stop, restart, and rework features multiple times within the same quarter. As a result, quarterly delivery is consistently chaotic, with large amounts of last-minute, out-of-scope work pushed onto engineers in an attempt to meet deliverable dates quarter over quarter. This is compounded by heavy-handed engineering micromanagement and the repeated undermining of team leadership, creating a highly stressful environment that takes a real toll on the people doing the work. The engineers responsible for delivering under these conditions are capable and committed, and they deserve better. Reflecting on my time at Litify, I can say it was the most disappointing professional experience of my 25+ year career. Upon my departure, I spoke with multiple colleagues who independently used the same word to describe the environment: toxic.
