Pros

Exposure to Senior Management Company has become a major player (in size and assets) within industrial RE sector Relevant work exposure and assignments Decent perks

Cons

Specific to Accounting only: Extremely long and taxing hours; if you do not work until 10:00 - Midnight multiple nights a week, you are perceived as lazy. I'd highly advise against making weekend plans or vacations while in this role. Morale within the department is incredibly low. Management talks negatively about staff in front of others; there is a general lack of appreciation for the work-life sacrifices the team has made. It is common for staff to get criticized and yelled at in front of others. Turnover is rampant which has resulted in most of the department having little tenure ( < 1 year ). As a result, there is a lack of consistency with expectations, deliverables, deadlines, etc. In other words, little structure exists.

Pros

Strong benefits, PTO, pay, and tech. Smart, hardworking employees. Blackstone ecosystem is helpful for networking.

Cons

Frequent reorgs, turnover, and quiet layoffs. Leadership seems to operate under its own set of rules. HR seems unprepared and inconsistent when dealing with serious issues. Feedback is collected but rarely acted on. Employees are expected to be in office 4 days/week and "work from anywhere" month was eliminated, but some execs continue to work wherever they want. Office-based and remote teams feel like different worlds with different expectations around responsiveness and communication. Advancement feels more driven by politics and cliques than performance. DEI has become hollow and performative and leadership lacks meaningful diversity. Leadership is reluctant to directly address morale and trust issues and often seems to protect their own.
