The goalpost was moved every month. New targets and angles were forced upon us meaning it was difficult to achieve anything meaningful. I was initially welcomed into a healthy working environment but I was slowly but surely encouraged by management to work beyond the hours contractually agreed and made to feel like if I didn’t I was not being a “team player”. After training and induction all ideas of work-life balance were thrown out the window due to unrealistic targets and new expectations from management. The paycheck might seem good during the training/onboarding period but as the goalpost moves you end up not taking home what you expect due to new targets. During my employment, I encountered what I perceived as a relaxed attitude toward drug and alcohol abuse. Others may have different experiences, but this was mine.
