Pros
- The data team fosters a learning environment where mistakes are learned from rather than punished. - I can see myself working here for at least 2 more years. - The compensation is competitive (see cons section though). - Leadership within the data department is talented and transparent. - There are mentor and mentee opportunities in the data department. - Work hours are flexible and there is an emphasis on work life balance. - The work is fast paced and challenging. - I have learned a variety of new skills that I was seeking out since I joined and I still see room for growth. - Your success is in your hands and the work that you do will be recognized by your manager.
Cons
- Like many companies in the tech industry we are currently going through belt tightening (whether it is needed or not) and this has reduced morale and had financial implications. - An on call policy was instituted within the company without much input from the individual contributors and the pay does not fully justify the additional responsibility. - Compensation reviews used to be conducted quarterly but are now bi-annual and compensation increases seem to be restricted to once annual now rather than discretionary like they were in the past. - This is disappointing and was a major draw to why I signed with League in the first place. - Reading through recent reviews is fairly disturbing and does not paint a great picture of the company outside of the data department. - I have not personally witnessed dysfunction to the level described in other reviews but I can understand where it comes from considering how much League has had to pivot in its history and in recent times. - It is disturbing seeing layoffs hitting team members of color harder than others.
