The leadership at the company is, for the most part, woeful. Only two of the Directors at the company actually manage (one in local government and the other on private practice locums) and this probably accounts for such a high rate of turnover in junior consultants.
The CEO of LAW Absolute can also be quite the charlatan who often relies on subordinates to supply her with basic market information and, in extreme cases, to win business pitches. She means well but is frankly uninspiring.
The ownership maintain several other business interests, which is not in itself a problem; returning once a week to sit in for four hours and ask where everyone's billings were up to is far more of a problem. Again, they aren't bad people but it seems somewhat like they use the company as a cash cow.
The computer system is awful.
The company has a turnover problem. This is just a sad truth. During my time - only seven months - the company sacked three consultants and three resigned. From my understanding this is a fairly consistent rate at LAW Absolute, and to provide some context this is in a business of 20-25 people.
Finally, the company seemingly permits the bullying of resourcing staff. There is one particular consultant who has consistently been accused of this and no repercussions seem to have taken place. It's repugnant.
