Pros
I find good positives in the company. - You get to work on building things for the defense forces of country. Nothing can beat that. The company works in the defense niche and uses the cutting-edge technology to build products of tomorrow. You not only learn the diverse technology but can take proud in your products being used in defending the country. And the exposure to defense technology is mindboggling. The company tries to bring on-board the best of the experts for niche domains and juniors can learn enormously from these experts. - The learning is extensive, where management puts you right in the midst of action, interacting extensively with key stakeholders and building a rapport with them. This can only happen with a small startup; the big companies can never provide you this kind of exposure. Of course, it comes with a lot of responsibility, as you fully own the module you are working on. - Top management is very open to honest feedback. Not only does it listen to it, but tries to act on it. And you get to learn and grow quickly because all the issues are discussed and run through the facts. - The company rewards the performers. Only consistent, solid work will keep you going here, and senior people are usually very honest in appreciating good performers in their team. - The company hires people purely on merit. People from diverse cultures and backgrounds work cohesively. The office environment is relaxed, calm, and very open. If you plan well, managers don't nag you for taking leaves.
Cons
- Not everything is rosy though. The perks are not the best in the industry. The management would do good to bring better compensation across the levels. - Since the company entrusts you with client interaction, it can lead sometimes to slight friction if you are not exposed how to handle customers. However, you get to learn this with time. - Deadlines can be brutal at times. Since the company projects have very high stakes in terms of on-time, high-quality delivery to the armed forces, at times there could be very long hours in the office. However, company has a good compensatory leaves policy. So you end up getting leaves for the days you worked extra.
