Pros

- I loved the people I worked with and managed. Every person has his/her strong points and weaknesses but the overall collective was positive which made for a good working environment. - Salary and benefits were competitive in a tough marketplace (and space.) - Opinions are valued and coworkers have above-average respect for each other

Cons

- Turnover is high (including myself) which makes client and co-workers relationships difficult. - I'm a fan of process but Langtech takes it to a level where it adds too much overhead - Good quality workers are often overworked as there is always dead weight at a company - Roles need to be clearly defined to help with points 2 and 3. Near the end of my tenure I was asked to be an account manager (both technical and client relations) in addition to project manager, trainer, salesman, IT director, SME, engineer, and mentor. That's a lot for anyone and too much to do any role particularly well.

Pros

Langtech is a diverse and talented team. People get along well and seem generally happy. The company hosts several events for its employees each year: an effort to foster more of a community feeling at the workplace. This year it was a holiday dinner party, an escape room, and a party at a pool hall. Langtech promotes from within—the difference between a job and a career. This contributes to an overall positive workplace and is probably their most positive, attractive attribute to potential employees. Langtech is organized and prepared with a cloud infrastructure and robust, automated systems that help manage multiple aspects of work life, including Azure, Kaseya, and ConnectWise. The company moved its entire infrastructure into the cloud recently, in keeping with the times, and encourages its clients to do the same. Langtech employees are given late model Dell laptops with docking stations and dual monitors to work with—good machines. A recent documentation initiative also earns bonus points for the company. Langtech is well organized overall, with an actually-usable SharePoint, for instance, that makes engineering easier. Upper management at Langtech is very much involved with the daily work of the company—you will actually see them. And they like to get to know the employees personally. This definitely contributes to the overall positive environment at Langtech.

Cons

Overall flexibility could be improved upon. The time off policy is somewhat restrictive, but not out of line with other similar companies’ policies.
