Pros
Great place to start a career. Exposure to lots of aspects of logistics. Company is financially strong and it’s rare anybody is fired.
Cons
Outside of the tools the programmers and IT have the technology at corporate is very outdated. Company has been trying to move to a new TMS since I started and they’re still nowhere close to being finished. Employee computers are about 15 years old on average. Low pay- low skill hiring- you might be able to get a job that was a bit of a reach for you but often times if you rise to the occasion they will dump 80% of the work on 20% of the people. Hard to move up , preference towards management coming externally. Upper management more concerned with their own career visibility than developing any of their employees. Pay so out of touch with the market that it’s not even funny. After 5 years I only made about 5% more than when I started.
