Pros

I have worked for Landau for nearly 20 years and my experience has been very positive. From the day I started to today, I have been continually impressed by the breadth and quality of work, the dedication of the management team to taking care of people and developing future leaders, and the transparency available to all employees. Most importantly, it is the quality of the people, both in terms of technical expertise and overall attitude that have kept me here. I appreciate that if I come across a new issue that I haven't dealt with before, or need assistance on a project, or help with staff management, there is always someone willing and able to jump in. This is teamwork at its best. I have seen the company go through two CEO transitions and have been very pleased with the level of planning, communication, and support through these transitions. There is endless opportunity for those willing to put in the work, explore available pathways, and proactively seek advancement. I also appreciate the commitment and investment in bringing people together in the same physical space despite growth in office locations and numbers of remote workers.

Cons

Minor and more related to the nature of consulting work in general than particular to Landau.

Pros

Landau is full of genuinely great people who are deeply dedicated and exceptional at what they do. The company has built a strong reputation for high‑quality work and an equally strong work culture. If you want to learn from some of the best in the environmental industry, Landau is an excellent place to grow. For those who work hard and take ownership of their responsibilities, there is significant opportunity to learn, take on meaningful challenges, and progress quickly. Expectations are high, but so is the support—and as an employee‑owned firm, there’s meaningful financial upside tied to the company’s success. Compensation and benefits are very competitive within the environmental consulting industry. While I could earn more in a different sector, the overall opportunity, culture, team, and long‑term potential far outweigh a higher salary elsewhere.

Cons

This is minor, but coming from a much larger company, I do sometimes miss the feel of working within a big, expansive team. My immediate team at Landau is smaller, which isn’t necessarily a “con,” but it has been an adjustment from what I was used to.
