The work atmosphere is strained due to the paradoxical behavior of both management and senior staff: they criticize you for either asking or not asking questions, then interrupt you confrontationally. This confusion escalated when I was called into the office for unclear performance issues and offered a reduced salary in line with what senior staff earn. Instead of giving raises to senior staff, they prefer salary cuts for perceived under-performance. Honestly, no pay increase would make this work environment tolerable.
